SLPP Leader, President Kabbah, Signs Late S.B. Marah's Condolence Book

President Kabbah flanked by Vice President Berewa and SLPP Chairman Dr. Banya at SLPP HQ, Rawdon StreetLeader of the ruling Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP), Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, has officially signed a special book of condolence opened in honour of the late leader of the majority party in the Sierra Leone House of Parliament, Honourable Sewa Bockarie Marah, who passed away on Thursday 13th November 2003 after a brief illness.

Deputy leader and Vice President Mr. Solomon Berewa, SLPP Chairman Dr. Sama Banya, Secretary-General Dr. Prince Harding and the opposition All Peoples Congress (APC) party leader Hon. Ernest Bai Koroma were among the large group of mourning party stalwarts and other sympathisers who queued up after President Kabbah to sign the book.

President Kabbah wrote: "SB thanks for all you did for our party, the SLPP. We all loved you and your untimely death was deeply felt by us all. We have decided to take consolation in the fact that death is the inevitable destiny of us all. We shall miss you. We are sure you will be in the loving care of Allah, until we meet again".

Vice President Berewa wrote: "S.B.Marah was a very great nationalist, a valiant supporter of the SLPP and a Parliamentary icon whom I always loved and admired. May his soul rest in peace"
APC's Ernest Koroma penned: "May his soul rest in peace"

The remains of the late 'SB' as he was popularly called will be interred on Friday 21 November 2003 at the Kissy Road cemetery after a fitting Official Funeral and laying out at the State Hall of Parliament Building followed by Friday Jummat prayers at the Jamiul Quddus Mosque at Magazine Cut in Freetown.
He was seventy-nine years old.
