4TH AUGUST 2003 Government has learnt, with deep sympathy, about the death of former President Joseph Saidu Momoh, which sad event took place in Conakry, Republic of Guinea on Sunday, 3rd August, 2003. His Excellency the President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah and his Government extend profound condolences to the bereaved family and to the Leader and members of the All Peoples Congress Party for this loss. In the meantime, it is understood that consultations are being held
about funeral arrangements. If the decision of the family is to have
the remains of ex-President Joseph Saidu Momoh brought to Sierra Leone
for burial, Government is prepared to honour him with a state funeral. -END OF STATEMENT- |
