Government has received with profound sadness report of the death of twenty-four persons, including UNAMSIL peacekeepers, Sierra Leoneans and other civilian nationals, in a helicopter crash that took place this morning in the Kono District. Government therefore extends deepest sympathy and condolences to UNAMSIL and the bereaved families of the peacekeepers, Sierra Leoneans and other civilian nationals who perished in the gruesome tragedy.
