H.E. President Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah

Presidential Spokesman In London For Specialised Training.
by Isha Bob Allen

September 12th 2003:- The Presidential Spokesman, Alhaji Kanji Daramy is in London to attend a special training programme. The special Study Programme, Government: Image and Information, seeks to explore and manage the interface and relationship between the Government and the Media.

The programme which has been arranged by a Consultancy Organisation in London, Public Administration International and sponsored by British Department for International Development (DFID), is aimed at Government Spokespersons and those responsible for the management and dissemination of public information and senior practitioners from the media world.

The programme is designed to broaden the participant's knowledge of government and policy orientation in relation to the media, particularly in the U.K, enable participants to learn from the experience of U.K government spokesmen/women, consider ways of broadening access to public information for all groups and develop their practical skills in handling and managing public information.

The worlds of Government and of media need each other. However, this symbiotic relationship is often fraught with difficulties. How to manage this interface is the knowledge that President Kabbah's spokesman will learn from his specialised study programme in London.
