24th July 2004: President Kabbah left
Freetown on Thursday, 22 July 2004 on a special
Presidential Jet sent by President Olusegun
Obasanjo to take President Kabbah to Abuja
to participate in the Africa-wide launch of
the UNDP Human Development Report for 2004.
During
President Kabbah's journey to Nigeria he made
a stop-over in Monrovia where he held talks
with Chairman Gyude Bryant of Liberia. Their
discussions centred on sub-regional peace
and security, mainly within the Mano River
Union basin and other issues of bilateral
importance to the two neighbouring countries.
In Nigeria, President Kabbah delivered
a paper on the 2004 Human Development
Report before he returned to Freetown on Saturday
July 24th 2004.
