Mission
Statement:
Develop
policies, particularly with regard to decentralisation,
supervise, monitor and co-ordinate the activities
of all Local Government bodies in the country
and assist in the identification, planning, implementation
and Monitoring of development programmes that
will foster community development, poverty reduction
and the socio-economic revitalisation of the urban
and rural sectors by carrying out activities under
the following major headings:

Development Funds and Projects
- ILO
Micro projects
- Mass
education relative to community development
- Provincial
land matters (Including registration and titles)
- Rural
Area Administration
- Municipal
and Town Council

Chieftaincy matters (including elections)
- Local
Administration
- Chiefdom
Councils

Chiefdom Police
- Tribal
Headmen (including elections)
- Valuation
and Rating
- Liquor
licensing
- Collaboration
with relevant Government Ministries and National
and International organisations/Institutions.
