Korean Ambassador Presents Credentials

The newly accredited Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Korea to the Republic of Sierra Leone, Mr. Dong-won Kim, has presented his letters of credence to His Excellency, Alhaji D. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah.

Presenting his letter, Ambassador Dong-won Kim conveyed felicitations from the President of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Roh Moo-hyun, to President Kabbah, and pledged President Moo-hyun's firm support for President Kabbah's endeavour to achieve national development.

Ambassador Kim said he was pleased to undertake the important mission of promoting further the amicable relations that the two countries have enjoyed over the years. He stated that because Sierra Leone and Korea are pursuing the same values of democracy and market economy, they have every reason to strengthen their cooperative relationship and solidify it for closer partnership.

President Kabbah in discussion with Ambassador Dong-won Kim

He promised to continue the good work of his predecessors and to do his best to advance the common interests and reinforce the solid base which support the mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.

In his reply, President Kabbah noted with gratitude the kind sentiments conveyed to him by President Moo-Hyun, as well as Ambassador Kim's desire to strengthen the friendly relations between Sierra Leone and Korea, and conveyed similar sentiments in return.

President Kabbah said that the two countries indeed share common values of friendship and mutual trust adding that this has been beneficial to the interest of the two peoples.
