President Kabbah, VP Berewa Inspect New Buses

President Kabbah inspecting the refrigerator, TV and Video system in one of the busesThousands of regular public transport users and commuters would be heaving some sigh of relief now that seventeen city and intercity transport buses have arrived Freetown awaiting commissioning.
The Sierra Leone Road Transport Corporation (SLRTC) lost almost all of its once large fleet of public buses during the massive destruction of public vehicles that followed the rebel invasion of Freetown in 1999.

Vice President Solomon Berewa Returns From Rome

The Honourable Vice President, Mr. Solomon Berewa, returned to Sierra Leone on Thursday 23rd October, 2003 after a short visit to The Vatican. At the invitation of Pope John Paul II Vice President Berewa took part in celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of his ascendancy to the papacy, the beatification of Mother Teresa of Calcutta and World Mission Sunday on 19th October 2003.

President Kabbah Holds Talks With Bangladeshi Prime Minister

Rounding up his week-long visit to Malaysia Tuesday, President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah arrived at the Zia International Airport in Dhaka, capital city of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, at the start of his three-day official visit to the country.
The President, who was received on arrival by his Bangladeshi counterpart, President Professor Dr. Iajuddin Ahmed and Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, later held bilateral discussions with the Prime Minister together with senior members of her cabinet.

Acting President, Honourable Justice Edmond Kadoni CowanActing President, Honourable Justice Edmond Kadoni Cowan, met formally with Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers on Thursday 16 October at State House.
Acting President Justice Cowan told the Ministers that since he took the oath of office on Monday night, 13th October, he said he had thought it necessary to have a formal meeting with Ministers who according to him "run the affairs of State".

Boost For Rural Information Needs

In what could be described as a big boost to the information needs of remote rural communities, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Broadcasting Service (SLBS/TV), has acquired new sets of audio-visual equipment, a modern sophisticated outside mobile broadcasting unit in addition to four new Land Rover vehicles.
