Kabbah Inaugurates Newly-Elected Councils
As
Sierra Leone moves towards reinstating
decentralised local government throughout
the country, the President Alhaji Dr.
Ahmad Tejan Kabbah has inaugurated the
newly elected Councillors for nineteen
Local Government District, Town and City
Councils in all twelve provincial districts
of the country and the Western Area.

Opening Of Parliament Today
The
President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah,
this morning Friday 18th June 2004 at
10:00 am gave his Presidential Address
in parliament, marking the beginning of
the third session of the second parliament
of the second Republic of Sierra Leone.
The solemn occasion took place at the
Bank of Sierra Leone Complex at Kingtom
in Freetown, as the Parliament Building
at Tower Hill is under rehabilitation.

of the African Child Celebrated
June
16 is the day set aside by the then
OAU, now AFRICAN UNION, to remember
the hundreds of South African children
who were massacred in Soweto while on
a peaceful demonstration during the
Apartheid regime.

Cricket
Team Presents Trophy
The
Captain of the Sierra Leone Cricket Team,
Ibrahim Sesay, has presented the 'President
Tejan Kabbah Peace Trophy' to President
Kabbah, Grand Chief Patron of the Cricket
Association of Sierra Leone.
The Peace Trophy was won by Sierra Leone
at the 16th Edition of the West African
Cricket Tournament held in Banjul, the
Gambia

Kabbah Commissions Ultra-Modern Brewery
The
President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah,
has officially commissioned an ultra-modern
bottling line at the Sierra Leone Brewery,
at the factory's industrial estate in
Wellington, eastend of the capital, Freetown.
The bottling line is estimated to cost
some six million euros, the equivalent
of nineteen billion leones..

New
Hospital For Kambia
The President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan
Kabbah, officially opened the newly rehabilitated
Government Hospital in Kambia on Thursday
3rd June, 2004. The hospital which was
destroyed in 1995 during the country's
decade-long conflict was reconstructed
with funds provided by the European Commission.
