Rice Farmers of Malal-Marah Chiefdom Share President Kabbah's Vision

President Kabbah's Vision of food for all Sierra Leoneans by 2007 received a major boost on Sunday, 28 December 2003 when he witnessed first-hand the commencement of rice harvest at Rowaka Village, Malal-Marah Chiefdom, Tonkolili District in northern Sierra Leone.
On his way the President inspected road construction works of the Masiaka-Pamlap sector of the trans-african highway linking Sierra Leone and Guinea via Port Loko and Kambia, up to the Guinean border town of Pamlap.

Convocation Ceremony Of The University Of Sierra Leone

Two hundred and twenty-two graduands of the constituent colleges and institutes of the University of Sierra Leone received degrees, diplomas, certificates and other awards at the Adjai Crowther Amphitheatre, Fourah Bay College, Mount Aureol in Freetown on Saturday, 20th December 2003.
It was a very colourful ceremony and as Chancellor of the University, President Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah performed the task of conferring the degrees, diplomas and certificates, and made the usual chancellor's address.

Sierra Leone Chamber Of Commerce, Industry And Agriculture Annual Dinner

President Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah was again at this year's annual dinner of the Sierra Leone Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture which took place at the Lighthouse Restaurant, Man of War Bay, Aberdeen in Freetown on Thursday 18th December, 2003.
President Kabbah, according to tradition, gave the keynote address at the dinner.

US Air Force Commander, General Robert H. Foglesong, Calls On President Kabbah

General Robert H. Foglesong, Commander, US AIR FORCE paid a courtesy call on His Excellency the President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, Monday, 15 December 2003, during which he thanked the President for making available Sierra Leone's facilities and airspace to facilitate their recent intervention in Liberia.

Sierra Leone's Vision 2025 Document Launched By President Kabbah

In March, 2001 Sierra Leone embarked on a visioning process and the concept was launched by His Excellency the President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah.
Today, Friday 12 December 2003, the ingredients of that process, captured in a document titled SIERRA LEONE VISION 2025 "SWEET SALONE", "UNITED PEOPLE, PROGRESSIVE NATION, ATTRACTIVE COUNTRY" with a sub-title "Strategies For National Transformation", the Vision Document was launched by President Kabbah at the Lagoonda Complex at Aberdeen, Freetown.

President Kabbah at Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria

President KabbahThe President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, was among some fifty-two heads of state and government who attended this year's CHOGM in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Apart from the politics of the Commonwealth, leaders devoted time to real issues such as developing public - private partnerships and the forging of strategic alliances among and between member-states of the Commonwealth.

Vice President Berewa Leads Delegation To The United Nations Industrial Developmment Organisation (UNIDO)

On the invitation extended to His Excellency the President, Alhaji Dr. Ahmad Tejan Kabbah and the Government of Sierra Leone by the Director General of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, (UNIDO), Mr. Carlos Margarinos, the Hon. Vice President, Mr. S.E Berewa led a Six Man Delegation to the 10th General Conference of UNIDO in Vienna, Austria.

Acting President Sworn-In

President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah left Freetown Wednesday morning to attend the Commonwealth Heads of Government Summit in Abuja, Federal Republic of Nigeria. Meanwhile, Vice President Solomon Berewa is also away in Vienna participating in a global conference on peace and is expected Thursday 4th December, 2003.

New RSLAF High Command Announced

President Kabbah taking the saluteFormer Brigadier Sam Mboma has been officially confirmed to the office of Chief of Defence Staff of the Republic of Sierra Leone Armed Forces (RSLAF) with the rank of Major-General effective today 1st December 2003. The promotion follows an earlier announcement made by Commander-in-Chief of the RSLAF, President Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, regarding certain staff changes in the national Armed Forces.
